PS 119x Visits The From The Bronx Pop-Up

Last week, the team at From The Bronx had the pleasure of hosting 3 separate groups of elementary school students from PS119x at our Pop-Up Shop in Bronx Little Italy. Each visit was filled with laughter, learning and a whole lot of Bronx pride! And food, because kids like to eat!

Bronx Trivia and Zeppoles
The atmosphere at the From The Bronx Pop-Up Shop was electric as the students immersed themselves in Bronx trivia. We started off each visit with introductions where we tried our best to remember as many names as we could while sharing a bit about ourselves and our business. After introductions, we shared a bit about our borough's rich history, culture and notable figures with the group. The team at From The Bronx made sure the event was not only educational but also incredibly fun. After our presentation, we broke the students into groups to complete a Bronx themed crossword puzzle! The first group to finish with the most correct answers won copies of our Bronx Summer Activity Book.

After the group activity, all of the students got to eat delicious zeppoles by Zeppole Queen Alexandra Lulaj at Dua Gourmet Market. The mouthwatering treats added a delightful touch to the event, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Curiosity and Engagement
The students' enthusiasm and curiosity were infectious, as they bombarded the team with countless questions. From inquiries about iconic landmarks to the history behind well-known Bronx neighborhoods, the students were eager to absorb knowledge about their borough. We had a great time engaging with the students, providing them with insightful answers and encouraging their inquisitive minds. We hope the presentation not only satisfied the students' thirst for knowledge but also fostered a sense of pride and belonging in their community.
