A Six-Year Odyssey: Daniel Hauben's "Emergence"
Some artists paint The Bronx. Daniel Hauben captures it: the noise, the color, the motion, the life. And in his new exhibit, he turns that same eye inward.
We're proud to have designed and printed the official poster and postcards for Daniel Hauben's "Emergence" at the Kingsbridge Historical Society, a rare large-scale show inside Edgehill, the landmark 1889 church KHS calls home. Supporting a legendary Bronx painter while working alongside one of the borough's historic institutions? That's a dream project for us.

The show takes its name from its centerpiece. "Emergence" is a 9-foot painting that Hauben describes as "a six-year odyssey into the realm of the imagination", a work he began when the pandemic grounded his travels and turned his brush toward a world entirely his own. It's the heart of the exhibit, and it's the kind of painting you don't just look at; you fall into it.

For fans of his Bronx work, there's a bonus: his epic "Bronx Vortex" (16 feet across 5 panels, packing Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse into one swirling masterpiece) is making a rare full appearance. Alongside monumental pieces like the 21-foot "Reflecting on the Familiar," it's a once-in-a-while chance to stand inside Hauben's world at full scale.

"Emergence" runs May 1 through June 30, with free admission on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 11am to 3pm. And mark your calendar for June 21, when KHS hosts a fundraiser: Daniel will be selling prints, and From The Bronx will be on hand with Bronx-themed merch, with a portion of proceeds supporting KHS.

Thank you to Daniel and the KHS family for trusting us to help bring "Emergence" to the public. Bronx artists telling Bronx stories deserve nothing less.
