Deck the Halls BX-Style: Lights, Trees & a Dash of History at Bartow-Pell Mansion
The Garabedian Family Christmas House has officially retired, leaving us all wondering, “Where can we get our festive glow on in The Bronx?” Fear not, holiday-light enthusiasts, we've found the answer at Bartow-Pell Mansion!
Picture this: A historic house museum tucked away in Pelham Bay Park (895 Shore Road to be exact) and primed to be decorated in holiday fare. This year, they've turned the sparkle up a notch with Holiday Lights – a dazzling array of trees dressed to impress by local residents. We're talking about a tree extravaganza that would make Santa's elves do a double-take!

Susan Chesloff, Museum Administrator, spilled the holiday tea: "We went to the public, we went to residents in The Bronx and Westchester, and asked them to come up and decorate the trees, and we've got a lot of great trees this year, and it's very special. It's a special year."

Thanks to the good folks at The Friends of Pelham Bay Park, a non-profit on a mission to keep the park fabulous, we got an invite to bask in the glow of Bartow-Pell's festive wonderland. And let us tell you, it was a holly-jolly good time!
The mansion itself is a feast for the eyes, dripping with architectural elegance and oozing history. The added Christmas trees make it even more impressive! We brought the whole family to soak up the festive vibes, explore the mansion's nooks and crannies, and, of course, snag that perfect pic for our family holiday card. Because if it's not on the 'gram, did it even happen?
