Celebrate Evelina Antonetty aka "The Hell Lady of The Bronx" at Evelina100
Join From The Bronx as we celebrate the historic achievements of Evelina Antonetty at Evelina100!
Evelina100 is the centennial celebration of Bronx-based activist, advocate and educator Evelina Antonetty aka "The Hell Lady of The Bronx". Evelina made it her life's mission to provide value, resources and dignity to the people of The Bronx and is one of the most impactful activists of the Puerto Rican diaspora of the 20th century.
From The Bronx is honored to have collaborated with the Evelina100 Committee on 2 Limited Edition Commemorative T-shirts which will be available at each of the celebration events from September 12 - 19, 2022. Both designs celebrate Evelina's roots and her commitment to communities of color in The Bronx while drawing from one of her most inspirational quotes:
“We will never stop struggling here in The Bronx, even though they have destroyed it around us. We would pitch tents if we have to rather than move from here. We would fight back. There is nothing that we would not do. They will never take us away from here. I feel very much a part of this place and I am never going to leave. And, after me, my children will be here to carry on . . . I have very strong children . . . and very strong grandchildren.” - Evelina Antonetty
