Celebrating Bronx Stories at Seis Del Sur's "HISTORIAS: The Stories Behind the Images"
On Thursday, September 12, 2024, From The Bronx was honored to support HISTORIAS: The Stories Behind the Images, a powerful new photo exhibition by our friends at Seis Del Sur. Hosted at The Bronx County Historical Society, the exhibit showcases the untold narratives of The Bronx through the lens of Seis Del Sur's six founding Nuyorican photographers—Joe Conzo, Jr., Ricky Flores, Ángel Franco, David González, Edwin Pagán and Francisco Molina Reyes II—alongside new additions Carmen Mojica and Abigail Montes, all of whom have been documenting the borough’s evolution for decades.

As part of the event, The Bronx Beer Hall provided food and drinks, bringing that signature Bronx flavor to the celebration. We also set up a small From The Bronx pop-up featuring stunning prints and books by the members of Seis Del Sur, giving attendees a chance to take home a piece of Bronx history.

The night was filled with deep conversations, laughter, and a shared appreciation for the power of storytelling through photography. The Historias exhibit is an absolute must-see—it not only captures the resilience and beauty of The Bronx but also reclaims the borough’s identity in a way that only Seis Del Sur can.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure to visit before it closes! For more details, visit the Seis Del Sur website at https://seisdelsur.nyc/ or stop by The Bronx County Historical Society at 3266 Bainbridge Ave, The Bronx, NY 10467 to experience it for yourself.
