Uptown Rumble: Heavy Music and Flash Tees in The Bronx
On Thursday, April 24, From The Bronx joined an electric crowd at the opening of Uptown Rumble: Heavy Music in The Bronx, a new exhibit hosted by The Bronx County Historical Society at at the Museum of Bronx History. The show dives into the borough’s raw and often overlooked punk, hardcore, and metal scenes, from local legends to the underground venues that helped shape them.

It also marked a first for us at From The Bronx. Instead of flash tattoos, we brought out flash tees, custom reflective shirts heat pressed live at the event, made for mosh pits, midnight bike rides, and anyone who likes their Bronx pride with a little distortion!

Curated by Steven Payne, Chucky Brown, and Joe Estrella, Uptown Rumble is more than a music exhibit. It’s a celebration of sound, resistance, and identity, all rooted in Bronx soil. Shoutout to Allen Quiles (Instagram Account @GoInPeaceCaptureTheWorld) for capturing a great shot of The Ramirez Bros working the opening.

The exhibit runs through November 2025 at the Museum of Bronx History located at 3266 Bainbridge Ave, The Bronx, NY 10467
