When The Whole Borough Showed Up: The World Cup at The Bronx Beer Hall

For a few glorious weeks this summer, the whole world felt like it was watching soccer, and a good chunk of The Bronx was watching it with us.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup came to New York, and The Bronx Beer Hall turned into a clubhouse for it. On match days, business jumped 85 percent, close to double, in the middle of summer, which is usually our slowest stretch of the year. People walked in at hours they never normally would, weekdays included, and stayed for the full ninety minutes and then some. We even got to talk numbers with The City Reporter about the boom that neighborhood bars were seeing while the rest of the city's tourism math got complicated.

But if we're being honest, the numbers were never really the point for us. The energy of the city, that rare feeling of everyone pulling in the same direction no matter where they were born or who they were rooting for, is the kind of thing you cannot put on a spreadsheet. Forget business. That is the good stuff.

Then came the grand finale. On July 19, we hosted a FIFA World Cup Finals Watch Party with Council Member Amanda Farías, and the place was electric from the opening whistle through overtime. Huge thanks to our partners who helped make it happen: the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, NYC EDC, and the Garifuna Coalition. There were raffle prizes, friendly borough-wide trash talk, and families and fútbol fans packed shoulder to shoulder for one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.

The energy did not go unnoticed. News 12 The Bronx stopped by to capture the scene, in a story headlined "We're drinking for free": Bronx Beer Hall celebrates 2026 FIFA World Cup Final with packed watch party.

The party was also where our limited-edition From The Bronx soccer jerseys got their moment, and you all showed out. They all but sold out. Seeing our borough's colors on backs all over the Beer Hall while the world's game played on the big screen was a full-circle kind of feeling.

None of this happens without a crew. Endless gratitude to The Bronx Beer Hall team for keeping the taps flowing and the vibes high all tournament long, and to From The Bronx for keeping the borough stylishly on brand from the first whistle to the final.

The World Cup will move on to the next host city. The feeling it left in The Bronx is sticking around.
