POTS Celebrates Grand Opening of Its Webster Avenue Home
From The Bronx attended Part of the Solution’s (POTS) “Day in the Life and Grand Opening” on Tuesday, May 20 and left feeling inspired!
POTS’ vision is simple and powerful: that all Bronx individuals, families and future generations will enjoy freedom from hunger, achieve financial security, and maintain long-term stability. POTS centers community, respect, hospitality, empowerment, and justice in everything they do, and their work connects immediate services like food and hygiene with longer-term supports such as legal help, education, and workforce development.

The evening began with a ribbon cutting and then flowed into an open-house with guided tours and a lively reception in their gorgeous backyard space. Guests were invited to drop in between 5 PM and 7 PM to tour the new rooms, chat with staff, and enjoy food and music while learning how the expansion will support day-to-day services.

POTS’ refreshed space is a clear example of community investment and a reminder that thoughtful, well-designed places let organizations reach more people and deliver better services for greater impact. Their approach, driven by a Theory of Change that focuses on education, health care, hygiene and communication access, stable housing, and increased financial assets, shows how programs are built to create lasting stability for families.

Not for nothing, but we really appreciate organizations like POTS. They show what community looks like in action and the good we can do when we look after one another!
Big shout out to partners, volunteers, and supporters who help POTS do this work, including Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Catholic Charities NY, Robin Hood NYC, Maverick Capital Foundation, the Community Advisory Committee, and everyone who volunteered or came out to support the evening.

Remember, volunteers and community partners are vital to helping POTS accomplish its mission. If you missed the event, stop by 2759 Webster Avenue to see the space and learn more.
