Watch: Anthony & Paul Ramirez Host "The Immigrant City" for NYC Tourism's New Web Series!
We are incredibly proud to share that From The Bronx co-founders Anthony Ramirez II and Paul Ramirez are the official hosts for an episode of NYC Tourism’s groundbreaking new web series, From Times Square to The World!
The series, launched as part of the "Founded By NYC" campaign, celebrates New York City’s 400th anniversary by exploring the history, culture, and people that make our city unlike anywhere else on Earth. Each episode takes viewers on a journey through the five boroughs, uncovering the stories that shaped the city we love.
In their episode, titled "The Immigrant City," Anthony and Paul take viewers on a tour that honors the generations of newcomers who built New York. From the indigenous history at the National Museum of the American Indian in Lower Manhattan to the "Nonnas of the World" at Enoteca Maria in Staten Island followed by a tea meditation at Chinatown Soup in Chinatown, the episode is a beautiful tribute to our city's melting pot.
But you know all roads lead back to The Bronx!
The journey culminates right here in our borough on the legendary Arthur Avenue. The brothers highlight how the neighborhood has evolved from a strictly Italian enclave into a vibrant mosaic of cultures. They stop by some of our favorite local gems, including:
- Calabria Pork Store: Famous for their "meat chandelier" and spicy 'nduja.
- Madonia Bakery: A Bronx institution since 1918 (get the cannoli!).
- Cosenza's Fish Market: Where the raw bar is always fresh.
The episode wraps up at The Bronx Beer Hall, where Anthony and Paul discuss their mission to create a community hub where locals and visitors alike can celebrate The Bronx over a pint of local craft beer.
